HUT HNSI Ke-53
To commemorate the 53rd Anniversary of the Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI), a series of activities was designed to reflect collaboration, social responsibility, and a shared commitment to sustainable marine development. More than a ceremonial celebration, this initiative reaffirmed the importance of placing fishermen at the center of Indonesia’s marine and fisheries development agenda under the principles of the Blue Economy.
The collaboration with Pandawara Group became a key element of the Sea Clean-Up Initiative. Pandawara Group is a youth collective from Bandung, consisting of Agung Permana, Ikhsan Destian, Gilang Rahma, Muhammad Rifqi, and Rafly Pasya, who gained widespread recognition through their environmental clean-up campaigns shared across social media platforms. Their efforts have successfully raised public awareness—particularly among younger generations—about environmental pollution and the importance of collective action in preserving natural ecosystems.
As environmental advocates, Pandawara Group has also achieved notable milestones, including setting a world record as the environmental movement with the largest number of TikTok followers and holding a record for the largest mass plastic bottle cap removal initiative. Their involvement in the 53rd Anniversary of HNSI was expected to amplify the reach of the Sea Clean-Up campaign, increase public awareness of coastal conservation, and encourage broader community participation in creating cleaner and more sustainable marine environments.
The event sought to promote the sustainable, equitable, and productive management of marine resources, where ecosystem protection goes hand in hand with improving the welfare of fishermen. It also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships between fishermen organizations, government institutions, and communities to build a resilient and inclusive maritime future.
